Everyone is invited and welcome to attend our opening event on Saturday 6th October, in the grounds of Murston Old Church. Here’s a full programme of events
11am Opening Speech “The Worshipful the Mayor of Swale, Councillor Samuel Koffie-Williams” (15mins)
11.15 Speech The Reverend George Rogers , Vicar of Murston (15mins)
11.30 Speech Prof John Nightingale – Chair of Murston All Saints Trust (15mins)
11.45- 12.15 Sittingbourne Sea Cadets , TS Wyvern Marching Band
12.30-12.50pm James Tipp,reading poetry written for the Murston heArt Poppy Project and from WW1 soldiers
1-1.30pm Music from the Raspberry Keytones
1.30-2pm Performances from the Faversham Ladies Choir
2-2.30pm – 3pm Close. Thank you for being part of this vision
The Old Church will be open with displays from Swale in Bloom, the Murston HeArt project, and the Murston Tree of Remembrance
Our very Special Guests onsite throughout the day will be WW1 Re-enactment group “Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment Living History Group “

There will be also be a wish tree to decorate, add your comments, memories and dedications.

This event has also been listed as part of the National campaign for Fun Palaces – people places – communities working together – culture for all with all. The Murston HeArt project has been involved with this for the past 4 years. www.funpalaces.co.uk
Car Parking is very limited you will need to park on the roadside
Toilets will be on site but please note there is no food or drink available. You are welcome to bring your own, of course!
